About

Having starting piano at the age of four, and guitar while in middle school, music has always been a large part of my life. I majored in music at Harper Rainey College and Northern Illinois University, graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree.

I started my teaching career while I was in High School and continued through college. After marrying, my husband and I lived overseas for a number of years. I stayed active in teaching and performing.

I have been teaching in Gwinnett County since 2004 and am active in the Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association, the Georgia Music Teachers Association, and the Music Teachers National Association.

In 2008 I was invited to perform in an alumni recital at Harper College. My duet partner and I performed a duet recital series in 2009, with the final performance given at North Georgia College and State University. In 2012 we performed a duet recital at PianoWorks and presented a lecture/recital for the North Fulton and Gwinnett County Music Teachers Associations and at the state conference for the Georgia Music Teachers. We performed in 2017, 2018, and 2019 at a summer program in Vermont, and are currently preparing a program to be presented in 2020.
